7:17p The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion - Stories From the Docs
Abortion is a highly personal decision that many women are sure they'll never have to think about until they're suddenly faced with an unexpected pregnancy. But this can happen to anyone, including women who are strongly anti-choice. So what does an anti-choice woman do when she experiences an unwanted pregnancy herself? Often, she will grin and bear it, so to speak, but frequently, she opts for the solution she would deny to other women -- abortion.
In the spring of 2000, I collected the following anecdotes directly from abortion doctors and other clinic staff in North America, Australia, and Europe. The stories are presented in the providers' own words, with minor editing for grammar, clarity, and brevity. Names have been omitted to protect privacy.
"I have done several abortions on women who have regularly picketed my clinics, including a 16 year old schoolgirl who came back to picket the day after her abortion, about three years ago. During her whole stay at the clinic, we felt that she was not quite right, but there were no real warning bells. She insisted that the abortion was her idea and assured us that all was OK. She went through the procedure very smoothly and was discharged with no problems. A quite routine operation. Next morning she was with her mother and several school mates in front of the clinic with the usual anti posters and chants. It appears that she got the abortion she needed and still displayed the appropriate anti views expected of her by her parents, teachers, and peers." (Physician, Australia)
( more hypocrisy... )
stumbled upon this link today - thought it was interesting, the stories directly from the abortion docs themselves. What an awkward position to be in, treating a patient with that mentality.

1:59p Moving, my boys need a home :(
I can no longer afford to stay at school and can't go home so I'm moving to Arizona after May. I need a home for Sid and Johnny anywhere from St. Pete Florida, to Orlando Florida, to Daytona Beach. They come with the whole set up: cage (Superpet three level ferret cage), toys, water bottles, houses, chews, any food, cleaning supplies and extra litter I have at the time of pick-up or delivery. They (set up included) is free to anyone on this community. I might post this a couple times through out the semester if no one has responded lol. I know anyone on here would have the know-how to keep them happy and safe and hopefully post pictures so I can see what they've been up to. They're about 7 months old and are very loveable and sweet. For any responders, yes, I've called all the major airlines I would fly and none take rats. Please help. Thank you. :)
This is a link to my photostream. Most are of the boys. The grey one is Sid the topaz is Johnny.
Edit: here's the link lol

5:02p Name suggestions?
The black self boy smack in the middle (covered under all those fancy colours ;)) is a new addition to my family :) He needs a name! I am looking for something manly even though he is just a ball of fluff now. I have Sirius and Sigurd (Siggy for short) written down as faves so far. I like ancient Norse stuff but I am open to anything! Close up of four of the other males, 8 males in total. Any Dutchies here that are looking for rittens, this is a rescue litter in Vries and it still has 7 males up for adoption. (Big litter, momma has found a new home, 3 females have found new homes as well) Colours include bluepoint Siamese, blue, mink and black self. Momma is a BES [Black eyed Siamese] and an absolute sweetheart. Dad is unknown, someone bought her at a pet store and guess what she was pregnant...
Also happy birthday to my huge boy Chuck, he turned 2 years and 8 months today :) Here's to many more months to come old boy. I made him a pie with shrimp, red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, tomatos and fresh basil. Nomnomnom! (But he preferred stealing my biscuit.)

2:56a Looking for help.
I hope this is allowed here.. =O I'm looking for a little help. I would like to commission someone to help me design and create a steampunk outfit with a little Scottish flare to wear with a partial fursuit (Which is a mask, shoulder length paws, feet, and a tail). I would need the outfit by the middle or March for a convention and have no trouble sketching up a rough idea of what I'm looking for if a text description isn't good enough ( see under cut for the description).
You would be working with large sizes, such as XL shirt sizes and about a 48" waist and will need to be able to accommodate the costume I will wear with the clothes (since there are shoulder length paws I'd need sleeves that are not full length, ect.)
( These are my ideas. )
I am editing a response here because I had so many comments and currently don't have the time to reply to each one individually. I will break this down into topics.
Goggles: I prefer to wear the goggles around my neck because I will be wearing a full face mask who's under-structure would be squeezed in an unnatural way because it is made of foam and not flesh and bone like our own heads. I have seen goggles worn on fursuits before but they generally have the straps let all the way out and are pinned in some way to the mask to hold them in place, from what I have seen. As this is not really the look I am going for, I prefer to hang them around the neck when not in use.
Kilt : The reason I wanted slacks with my kilt is because I will not have full legs on this costume, only feet. I understand that it might be historically inaccurate but for the sake of not showing my human legs. Of course I would always wear the socks as stated and add some fur to them, just enough to cover my exposed legs. I apologize for all who were offended by the suggestion, I was just trying to make this costume work with the outfit. As I said, this idea is very much up to artistic interpretation and I have no trouble changing the concept or idea if the costume maker has a better idea than what I have presented.
Location: Swainsboro Georgia, about 3 hours from Atlanta, 1 hour and 45mins from Augusta, and about the same distance from Savannah Georgia.

9:47p Training Challenge - The Front Door, part 1
January's Training Challenge is to teach your dog to not overreact when someone comes to the front door and rings or knocks.
The behaviors I am referring to are before the door is even open. What does your dog do when he hears the knock or bell. Next month we will discuss behaviors that happen when you open the door for your visitor.
Depending on where you and your dog are at in training this could mean many different things. For one person it could mean just not leap on the door repeatedly. For another it might mean not barking. For a third person could mean the dog must automatically go to a predetermined location. You can adjust the difficulty as you see fit.
Remember to keep all comments about the challenge in this post and not make a new post of your own. This way everything is kept in one place for people to follow.
For your comments, let us know what your dog currently does when someone comes up to the door. If you like the behavior tell us what you did to train it (if anything). If you don't like what your dog does tell us what you would rather the dog do instead and then you plan to get there or you can ask for tips on how to get there.
If your dog's behavior is where you would like it, make a video and show off. Heck, even if it's not what you want you can make a video of your dog's current behavior so we can see your starting point. And maybe at the end of the month (or several months from now) you can post an update video with the progress you have made.

8:32p the best harness for rats?
Hey guys!
Hope everyone's holidays were good!
A friend of mine wants to get a harness for her ratties. I know most harnesses for rats don't actually work since they're so flexible and all, but I remember hearing in here once about a harness that actually works for rats.
It was on a website that sold that and maybe a few other pocket pet related things. Do any of you remember what I might be talking about?
Thanks! And here's a new years celebration photo with my rat Phantama to round up the post! Bottoms up!

10:24p
I've had my min pin for 2 months, he's almost 5 months. He does fine in his crate, if I put him in and walk away without saying anything. Sometimes he whines a few times after I leave. If I'm in the same room and I have to do something and put him in his crate, he whines endlessly. If he's left alone for 2 seconds, in my room with the door shut, not in his crate, he whines and whines and scratches at the door. Will that eventually go away? Should I do that more often so he learns to be more comfortable in a bigger area? (I feel like that bigger area would be an apartment living room and outside door, when I move out)
Also, he ALWAYS whines to get on my lap. He always jumps up at me and whines while looking at me and I never look at him or say anything to him. The only way for him to stop is if I get a ball and start playing with him. (But I'm always playing with him without him trying to get my attention first!) It's like he just wants to be on my lap, and have my attention. He can play by himself for awhile, but he'll always come back and look at me. When he stops to go to sleep, it's either under my feet or far away. I want him to use and love his crate!! That's his personal space, and it's nice and cozy. I don't know why he doesn't like sleeping in there... but he's fine when he's in it, alone. So weird!
Advice?

9:07p Panache Muiltiway Inferno - WTF?
Hi! I awhile ago I got the panache muiliway inferno in a 32E. Immediantly upon putting it on I realized that it didn't fit AT ALL. There was craploads upon craploads of exess fabric under my boobs. BUT I also had a crapload of cleavage and cup overflow, so what gives? Thinking that it was too small (and the band also too big) I got it in a 30FF (in black, first in biscuit if it matters). Lo and behold there's the same issue! Should I go up another size or what? I really would like a muiltiway and I can usually find a good deal on panache on ebay, so I really wanted this to work out, but alas. I was also thinking maybe the cups were too big? But then what was with the overflow? And whole not behind contained thing? Does anyone else have this bra? Have they had the same issues?
